A Farmers Prayer

You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with the water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it. You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops. Psalm 65:9-10

God is more involved in the process of farming than most farmers think. Instead of partnering with scientific labs when it comes to best farming practices we need to shift our hearts back to God and partner with the One who created the seed in the first place. We have become arrogant to think God didn’t see what 2018 or 2080 would look like concerning farming and food supplies. The answers lie in creation. Always have and always will.

Our advancements should come by way of a deeper understanding in what God has created not what man can create in a lab with chemicals. It’s time for our farmers to partner up with God and trust in His unfailing word instead of crooked corporations. It’s not a good enough excuse to say you don’t have a choice.

Adam and Eve had a choice between two different types of food that looked the same on the outside. It turned out they chose the wrong one.

Farmers are now faced with two very different types of food that look the same on the outside. Which one are you going to choose? The one that you believe is leading to more knowledge? Or the one that leads you into a deeper relationship and revelation of who God is and how His creation works.

Just like Adam and Eve your decision will impact the lives of many generations to follow. What we are seeing now within our culture is just the beginning. Who will you partner with? The Creator of the world, the one who created the original seed or the chemical company that created a hybrid seed? You have to think outside of your family and finances and realize your decision impacts the lives of millions of families.

If you are a farmer and you have partnered with chemicals instead of creation I am praying that you have the courage to search for answers in the world that God has created instead of what is being fed to you by corporations who’s only agenda is profit. Who do you think will have a better solution, the Creator of the world or a CEO? Don’t sell out because it’s easier or because everyone else is doing it. Fall on your knees and ask God for the undiscovered mysteries of His creation.

At the end of the day the farmers and all of the companies involved will reap what they sow…
