The Sun Was Made For God
Psalm 19:4-6
“In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.”
God has pitched a tent for the sun! Help me, Jesus! Regardless if the sun is sitting in a tent next to God in heaven is not the point. The point is, the sun makes its circuit from one end of heaven to the next. The sun was created to revolve around God not around us!
We are innocent bystanders to God’s greatness. The path that God sent the sun to rotate on just so happened to hit earth at the perfect angle in order for us to enjoy the brilliance of its rays. The sun was made for God not man for the sun!
We can’t ever get caught up in the mindset that anything was created to for us. Everything was created to worship and obey God. The creation that God allowed us to live with are here so that we would steward and take care of it. God made the garden and then made Adam and Eve. Not the other way around. They weren’t placed in the garden so that they could evaluate the resources and begin to build the world they wanted. They were placed in the garden to steward and enjoy the world that God had already built!
God wants to return His children back to His garden! You first have to abandon the world you have built in order to inherit the world He already built!
As I’m reading this, it reminds me of a song called Highway in the Wilderness by The Family. The worship music coming from this group is unreal! Every song this group sings is the cry of our hearts!
Highway in the Wilderness
I’ve found a Garden where the peace forever flows
I’ve found devotion where the fig tree grows
There is sweet communion between the father and the son
And it feels like home
It feels like home
There’s a highway running through the wilderness
And it’s full of glory and holiness
It’s a place where the roots of family run deep
And It feels like home
It feels like home
We will plant we will build
Take our seats and be fulfilled
In the land that the father is giving us
