The Lord Is…
Psalm 27:1-3
“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”
It is crucial that you have some “The Lord is…” phrases prepped in your vocabulary that you use on a daily basis. Faith isn’t about ignoring reality. Faith is about facing reality with the reality of the God you serve. It’s about telling your problems how big your God is instead of telling God how big your problems are.
The Lord is your shelter in the midst of a storm. The Lord is a comforter when you feel alone. The Lord is your healer and provider. The Lord is your defender. The Lord is your redeemer. The Lord is perfect love. The Lord is your Father! The Lord is King of kings and Lord of lords! He is the great I AM!

Just in these three verses David says the Lord is his light and salvation. The stronghold of his life. Because of that he knows when things are thrown at him God will cause them to fall down and not harm him. Even in the midst of an attack he says God gives him courage to not fear and confidence in the fact that His God can save him.
What is the Lord to you?
