Stand Firm. Start Moving.
Exodus 14:13-15
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.”
This scene takes place after the Israelites have been set free following ten miraculous plagues caused by God. The final plague was devastating. The Israelites were headed in the direction that God told them to go and all of Pharaoh’s army was quickly approaching. The Israelites had a powerful army filled with anger and rage closing in on them from behind and a sea in front of them. With nowhere to turn, they cried out to Moses, asking him why he brought them out there to die?!
In Exodus 14:13, Moses told the people to stand where they were and watch the Lord rescue them. Now in Exodus 14:15, God told Moses to tell the people to get moving!
God often demands an action that doesn’t make sense. What do you mean “get moving”? We are staring at a sea. I love how God says “get moving” before the miracle is performed.
Has God been asking you to make decisions that don’t line up with your present reality? We can testify, once you start moving, things will start to opening up.
God is looking for people who stand firm in their faith. Those people will be able to witness their deliverance. The things that are attacking them will no longer be an issue. The Lord will fight for these people they will only need to be still! Once God makes a way out of no way, they will be able to walk through on dry ground while those things that used to chase them will be drowned in God’s glory!
Your miracle is waiting on your movement. His word is your reality. Now move!
