Foundation
Psalm 89:14
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.”
God’s throne sits on a foundation of righteousness and justice. Righteousness not relevance. God understands His Kingdom will never be relevant to the seen world. EVER! Trying to make the Kingdom something that can be digested is complete error.
The Kingdom of Heaven has six wing creatures as well as creatures covered with eyes from the front to the back. Furthermore, there is nothing relevant about someone looking like the Son of Man who is holding seven starts in His hand, or a sharp doubled edged sword coming from His mouth or the fact that His face was bright like the sun.
Don’t settle for relevance. Your life as a Christian can and will not be relevant to those who’s desire is to live in the world. Regardless if it’s family, friends or co-workers – you have to be okay with looking like you have eyes all over you! Your life when explained by the world should sound like the visions recorded by John in Revelation.
People should say things like — they don’t believe in having sex before marriage, how weird. They believe abortion is wrong, craziness! Marriage should only be between a man and a woman, how old school. Gossiping at work and they never jump in, that’s different! They actually think certain things on TV shouldn’t be watched (like almost everything on TV these days). They are critical concerning the type of food they eat. When it comes to medical decisions they let their faith decide the direction of treatment.
Who are these people?
When you begin to live the way, God designed you to live, to the world and lawless Christians you will look like a creature with six wings. Just weird! Embrace it! It’s Kingdom mindset!
From a foundation of righteousness and justice real love and faithfulness will go forth. You can’t truly love a hurting world without being built on righteousness and justice. The modern-day church has tried to love a hurting world through a foundation of relevance not righteousness and that has just produced a world that is hurting even more.
Let us return to the original foundation. The foundation that God’s throne is seated on. From there the church will be able to send out love to a world that is in desperate need of it.
