Faith vs. Trust
Psalm 31:6
“I hate those who cling to worthless idols; as for me, I trust the Lord.”
You either trust the Lord or you are clinging to worthless idols. Trusting the Lord doesn’t come by way of saying with your mouth, “I trust the Lord”. Trust can only be seen by your daily actions and decisions. For 30 years I said I trusted the Lord when in reality I only had faith in the Lord, if that.
I had faith that God was able to do more than I could ever ask, think or imagine. With that said I never fully abandoned all of the security nets I had in place just in case He didn’t come through.
I finally transitioned from having faith in God to trusting God. I have completely forsaken all and have hedged my existence on the fact that God has told me to trust Him. He has told me to trust that He can do more than I could ever ask, think or imagine.
When you begin to trust in God on this type of level there is no plan B. It’s either God comes through or you are finished. It’s either He shows up in the fiery furnace while everyone else has their face on the ground bowing down to a worthless idol or you are going to burn alive. There is no middle ground or other option. God will either choose to deliver you from a den full of lions or you will be eaten alive.
As for me, I will trust the Lord! I despise those who worship worthless idols. It breaks my heart the false security these individuals lean on.
To those who are living inside captivity within the systems of the land, who believe, one short moment of bowing down in order to preserve their life is the logical way to live. I’m here to tell you, It’s idol worship. I despise it, but who am I, God despises it.
God didn’t reveal himself to the thousands of other people who had their face to the ground in front of King Nebuchadnezzar’s idol. He only showed up for those who really trusted Him to the level that they were willing to walk into a fire that was 7 times hotter than normal. He showed up and stood in the fire with them and preserved their life.Stop worshipping worthless idols. If you are wondering why your prayers haven’t been answered in a while it could be because you have your face on the ground bowing down to worthless idols. You can’t pray for deliverance when you’re on your knees in front of an idol. You have to pray for deliverance when you are walking inside of a fire that is about to burn you alive. You have to trust that God can and will deliver you. BUT IF NOT, He is still God! That is the definition of trust!
